How do you build a legacy of achievement and accountability? Once you have the heartbeat of champion, you have the foundation to build upon to tackle your biggest goals, challenges, fears and barriers in all theatres of life. We all want to win but it’s the pursuit of excellence that makes someone a champion in their own world.
Competing as a fitness model has empowered me in so many ways. The confidence I have gained is created from committing to a goal and then staying the course to push past physical and mental barriers and adversities. Along my journey of betterment I would leave the gym after a workout feeling physically exhausted but mentally razor sharpe with the mind-set of ‘what else am I capable of today,… what other barriers can I overcome’? Finding solutions to problems with effortlessness and feeling calm and clear in situations I was once perhaps frustrated or irritable.
I believe we can all light our internal fire by finding our “want” and defending it from being extinguished by adversity in life. As a certified Personal Trainer I now have the privilege of helping people find their “want” to set a goal in motion and reap the rewards that come with a confidence mentally. Watching people change their life by transforming physically and mentally provides me with a huge sense of fulfilment and there is no greater high than this. I have a desire to excel in the Personal Training business and am looking forward to making clients believe that anything is possible if you put your heart and passion first. MYLEGACY Fitness & Lifestyle is the brand I have created which makes a statement that what we do in the gym builds a mind-set of perseverance, determination and self-belief, and these character traits transfer into all theatres of our life. When we leave the gym having pushed our mind and body to a place it hasn’t been before we feel empowered to overcome the challenges we face during our day with pressures at work and through our relationships with colleagues, family and our friends, and the self-imposed barriers we often create which stop us reaching our potential. I want my clients to develop physically but also create these lasting character traits so they can be a pillar of inspiration around the people in their lives. They are essentially building their LEGACY by creating a person who influences others in a positive way.
When identifying your ‘want’ of life you will see two paths – a path less travelled that leads to your goal and a beaten path that leads to your comfort zone, the status quo path, the stay safe path where you accept your current situation, rationalising in your mind why this path feels right. The last thing you should to do is focus on the first hundred yards to either path. This knowledge will cause your decision to be prejudged into which path is safer, more comfortable, easier, not which path is best for your betterment. It is better to look into the horizon and see if your goal is out there waiting for someone to capture it. Someone has to achieve it, why not you? Why can’t you be the one who transforms? Not always, but you will find your goal is along the path less travelled not down the beaten path that society walks. The hardest step is the first one, after that first step you never look back physically, and as for mentally and emotionally, you will never look back with regret or ever wonder “what if” for you choose a path based on the end state and not the temporary comforts at hand.
The driving force behind what we all do differs, the reason to do it usually more similar, the ability to do it we all share and almost always overlook. The greatest motivations and reasons for engagement in any endeavour are usually never seen even though we stare at them each and every day. I stared my dream right in the face leaving me with a stronger physical state as well as a higher level of confidence mentally within as I took on the struggle and rode it though till the end. You can do the same. The choices we make and actions we put to such choices are the blocks that will form our lives. I challenge you to evaluate what you’re giving more attention to….your fears or your dreams. Face your fears, face the beaten path, endure its adversity and you will be rewarded with pride and dreams will become a reality.
